Hello. i need help on my notebook

hello guys.I have a system message on my notebook regarding problems on the fan. It says i need to shut down and bring for service.months before, i noted a different sound when the fan is working. do you think the fan wear out? or it just a software thing. please enlighten me. i need to know if i can play and fix it by myself or i need to bring it at once for service.if i need to bring it to service, do you know any place where the price is reasonable. is geek squad by best buy ok?
