  1. When I went to Lima in 2004,  I flew on Continental, I think...and I just bought my tickets through travelocity.com

However, now that I am a little more savvy, I look through the local latin newspapers for their travel ads.

skyauction.com is really good for south american flights on the cheap! it's an auction and you may have have to add in your connecting flight, but it may be worth it.

I usually start looking at the prices now,  and then if they go down considerably I'll buy them.

  2. try Exitotravel and SpiritAir

  3. American Airlines opereates a daily flight to Lima every night. From Philadelphia you would connect in Miami.

Another popular route is Continental Airlines which would make you connect in Houston. I personally like the AA flight better since it takes less time than Continental.

Regarding cheap fares, I would suggest you check on both these airlines website directly opposed to going through travel agents, which will most likely book you on these same flights and will also charge you a commision. (As do most of the websites like Expedia, Travelocity, etc.).

Good luck and have fun in Peru

  4. My family uses a travel agency called MTOM Tours. I don't know where you live but they have offices in Los Angeles (Los Angeles and Van Nuys). They specialize in cheap airfare to Nicaragua but also provide cheap airfare to Central and South America from the U.S.

MTom Tours, 3541 W. Temple Ave. Los Angeles, CA 90004 Tel 323-953-9000.

MTom Tour, 14415 Sherman Way Van Nuys, CA 91405 Tel 818-988-0022.

  5. You can use kayak.com which is a great page to find very good rates. I recommend you to start your search right now.

From Phily, I think you can take a bus to NYC and then take American (with a scale in Miami) or going to Newark Airport in New Jersey to take a Continental with no stops to Lima.

Enjoy your visit to the marvelous PERU!

  6. Hello, I know a travel agency named Carlson Wagonlit that owns 3000 offices around the world, and in the US they have over 1000 offices.

I recommend to access www.carlsonwagonlit.com and look for the office in Peru. It is a very serious travel agency, and they have English speaking staff.

I am peruvian and I love Machu Picchu. I've been there 3 times, and would come back as many as I could!!! Enjoy your trip!! It will be memorable!!
