Her mom died 3 times? Did she literally say that or did she just say ''my mom died today'' on different dates?? It is disrespectful, but who knows maybe she'll learn to respect.

That looks sick and disrespectful if she is English or knows English very well. But, to give it the benefit of the doubt,chances are that in her native language there is an expression like that, meaning, say, 'my mother suffered very much before dying." or something like that. And, she had translated it into english literally.
