Driving on the beach is something that is long overdue for change. Let's please build parking lots across from beach and keep the beaches clean and safe. How many more children or adults have to be killed or ran over to change the city's rulings. The tourist dollar isn't going to go away just because someone can't drive on our beaches. Think about the gunk that leaks from under your car. You can see it on your garage floor or driveway. That is pollution that is going to leach into the sand. At at time when we are all up in arms about a disastrous oil leak that is beyond our immediate control, we can control our beaches here. My other pet peeve is cigarette butts on the beach and sidewalks. It takes 15 years for one cigarette butt to disintegrate naturally! Pardon me for being a bummer to your question but I really want people to start thinking about being responsible citizens and good stewards to our mother earth.
