  1. Well, 2 weeks isn't a great deal of time by immigration standards. Maybe you should try to be a bit more patient. The petition has to go to Manila and then the immigrant visa section will contact you and ask you to fill out a few more forms, get an NBI clearance and some other things. Since the petition isn't sent electronically, it does take a bit of time to get there, plus the immigrat visa department in Manila is one of the busiest in the world.  Perhaps your fiance could contact the NVC and let you know a little better about how long you need to wait.

  2. You should give it about 4 months before you hear anything from the US embassy.

  3. Your packet will arrive when it arrives, there is no way to check. Just be pacient

  4. don't be impatient. that usually takes a long time... especially since it's in the philippines.

what the NVC meant is that they will be sending your papers to the embassy in manila... not to you. you will then receive a letter stating that the manila embassy has started working on your papers. if they received it yet hasn't started working on it, you will not receive anything. the embassy in manila will then finish processing your papers. once they do and once they have a date for your interview, they will then send you a letter of appointment.

that process could take 4-6 months... depends on how many fiance visas was ahead of you...

when we processed our k3 visa (basically a fiance visa for married couples), we received an approval notice from NVC in june 2006. it wasn't until october 2006 that i received notice from the vancouver embassy that they've received my packet and for me to call them to schedule an interview.

the embassy in vancouver isn't busy which is why i could just call to set up an interview. but even then, it took them 4 months to be ready for me. how much more in the philippines where the embassy is packed with people while in vancouver, there wouldn't be more than 25 at a time inside the embassy?

nothing for you to do except wait pretty much.
