  1. The island's main town is the port of Ciudad de Ibiza known as Eivissa to the locals and  Ibiza Town to the British. Located in the south, it is the centre of the islands nightclub scene and has a lively marina and quaint old quarter with some great restaurants.

    See http://www.spain4uk.co.uk/balearic_canar... for more details

  2. here:

  3. I take it from your questions you haven't decided really where to stay so I am going to do my good deed for the day and try and help a bit

    The three main towns are

San Antonio - notorious as a club 18 - 30's area which is a little harsh.  The resort is split into the town and the bay.

The town covers the west end (now that is 18 - 30's but is good for a giggle and a quick pint) the sunset strip - Mambo, Cafe Del Mar etc chilled out but more expensive you get a lot of big name DJ's warming up down here.  There are also the clubs Eden and Es Paradis - the smaller of the 'superclubs' but ok if you get a good deal to get in.

The bay is more family orientated slightly quieter although they still have some popular bars and some nice restaurants, If you are based round here there is a bus into San Antonio and onward into Ibiza town.

Ibiza Town - The Islands capital, it has many squares with cafes and lots of little shops and boutiques.  There are loads of bars to go to depending upon what you want and Pacha and El Divino are here.  The Marina is a nice area to eat and go out and the main g*y bars and clubs are here.

Down from Ibiza town is Playa D'en Bossa, really a beach with loads of hotels but Space is down here and Bora Bora as well as more bars - a lot of them family orientated with bingo and shows on.  The (small) Water Park is here as well.

Santa Eulalia is quieter more family orientated and perfect if you want a beach holiday.  There are some lovely places to eat and some bars but not in the same way as the other resorts.  Just down from Santa Eulalia is Es Cana and the famous hippy market.

In between these resorts are smaller resorts and quieter places to stay the link below gives a bigger overview

Beach wise - personally I like Cala Gracio and Cala Carbo however once you get off the main town beaches all the beaches are lovely and most of the big ones have either buses or boats going there (boats being a really nice way to go!)

Eating - there is a huge range of places to eat from your cheap and cheerful with English breakfast and fish and chips to Indian, Thai, Italian, Chinese etc.  You can pay anything from 5€ a head to 100€ a head.

Finally sleeping - Villas are lovely although expensive especially if there aren't that many of you.  Apartments quite often come with a pool although I would pay a little more to guarantee that you are not sleeping on a sofa bed!  A lot of the hotels do self catering apartments as well as hotel rooms and may be worth a look but it really depends where you want to be and your budget.

Hope that helps you and you have a really good holiday!!
