Hello there, does anyone know the cheapest way to get from London-Stafford?

I want to go about 8pm ish on Fri 11th July and come back at 5pm ish on Sun 5 pm ish on Sun 13th July....... Cheapest I have seen is £47! Seems sooo expensive! Any help is greatly appreciated. xxxxx

Get a "SUPER OFF PEAK RETURN" from Marylebone to Birmingham Moor Street.  These are £18.

Then get a return from New Street to Stafford, these are £12.10 for a saver return, or less if you prebook.  Alternatively, get the coach from Brum, it's cheap and it doesn't take that long to get to Stafford.

EDIT - Prebooking tickets from New Street to Stafford will cost £7 (2x£3.50 singles), so the cheapest you can do the trip by train is £25, imho.
