Hello there fellow yahoo answers chappies!!!I want to buy some video editing software?

but want recommendations as to the best....?

I am on a budget of course but throw some stuff and why I should buy them… I tried Sony Vegas and was NOT IMPRESSED so that is out of the question. I basically want to make a holiday DVD…. I like features that that cool white light flare you can do on pictures and having, for example split screens (well I am not sure what it is called but basically you can see say four videos on one screen with a nice black background)!

So any suggestions/prices??

Vegas is one of, if not the best prosumer video editor out there and can easily do the things you're asking for.  What didn't impress you?

Try Avid.

I presume it is a PC you are using, then Adobe Premiere Elements is the way to go.
