  1. It is quite easy to do actually, and there are many ways to do it as well!

You can buy a new CRF250R for as low as $4600! That would be a brand new one. Of course the year would have to be 06', but brand new 06's aren't too tough to find.

The 08' CRF250R runs for around $7000. Tends to be on the pricey side. But remember these are brand new

You can easily get a used CRF250R for under $3000 even.

I would know these things because I am considering selling my raced out CRF250R 05" for $3000 or less.

And I work at a  dealer.(No I'm not trying to sell you a bike, fortunately I work in parts) we have sold CRF250R's for 4999 lowest, but I have heard of many stories of lower than that even.

If you need help looking for a bike, I can help you out.

  2. it's not hard it's fun

  3. 250 4 strokes or any 4 strokes are simple and easy to maintain.

  4. There is not a lot of difference between any of them maintenance wise. because your racing the bike and riding it harder you need to look after it a bit more than a normal road bike. by that i mean more regular servicing. Changing the oil more often the plugs and filters (oil, Air, Fuel ) more often. you need to keep it Cleaner. check lubricants (Chain, Forks ) more often check Tyre pressure/wear more often.

basically you do exactly the same as you would to your road bike but a lot more often.
