try freecycle.org

They have branches in different cities.

Go to http://www.yahoo.com click groups on the left column.   Do a search for Freecycle and sigh up for one or more freecycle groups.  Free always beats cheap for similar quality.   I have see good quality beds,dressers, living room furniture, dining room sets, tables and chairs, yard furnitre appliances and a lot more offered in the 2 yrs I have been a freecycle member.  If you don't find what you want on freecycle try looking up the listing for Yahoo Cheapcycle.  There is a cost but not much. I bought a steam cleaner for $10 a while back.
