Helmet laws ?

in my town, you must have helmets for motorcycles and bicycles but not scooters or mopeds. wtf ?

You should campaign to remove all helmet laws for adults.

I'm guessing that the bicycle helmet law is for younger kids?  We have one where I live but it only applies to people under 16 years of age.  After that, it's your choice to wear a bicycle helmet.  All motororized 2-wheelers do require a helmet though in my area.

i hit the trails on a mountain bike and ride a motorcycle and the danger is apparent... i am recovering from a sprained ankle right now....

scooters and mopeds.... i dont see any dangers there

Don't ask the legislature to think anything through. They are not very good at it.

As for the entire concept of mopeds, I find the laws lacking in that regard in the first place.  "Lets make a small motorcycle, and put our children on them to ride around untrained and unsupervised, but unable to exceed 35mph

so they cannot get away from aggressive car drivers with blood in their eye!"  

"Sounds good, lets let them do without a helmet, while we're at it. No insurance and only a vestigial test, too."

If you buy the moped bit you gotta go all the way with it.
