Helmut Marko: Red Bull Racing will dominate 2012 season as well – Formula 1 news
Red Bull Racing team’s advisor Helmut Marko is confident that the team will once again be seen dominating its rivals through the next 2012 season of Formula 1.
The Milton Keynes-based team driver Sebastian Vettel, who clinched his back-to-back Formula 1 drivers’ title at Suzuka on Sunday, October 9, 2011 is proud of his team’s performance in the ongoing season.
Marko claims that the team has had the fastest car so far and one of the best teams in the Formula 1 calendar. He said Vettel’s impeccable performance has only proved how far the team can go and they look all-set to win the 2012 championship title as well.
He feels that the team has all the ingredients required of a successful Formula 1 team and nothing can stop them from being on top in the next season as well.
Speaking to BBC, he said, “We are just going from race-to-race and of course we want to win as many as possible. The whole crew stays together so I don't see a reason why we shouldn't be successful next year.”
The 24-year-old German driver who started the Japanese Grand Prix from pole position, finished in the 3rd position at the end of the race. However, his third position did not affect him much as he needed just one point to claim
his title for this season.
“He did a very good job, he didn't make nearly any mistakes and he also was very lucky that his car was so reliable,” said Marko. “There wasn't one technical issue in comparison to last year. If you remember two times he had technical problems when leading
[in 2010].”
The team’s only weakness has been displayed in its Kinetic Energy Recovery System and work has already been initiated to develop a more effective and up-to-date system for next year’s races.
The team has an extensive set of plans for next year as it aims to be in the dominating position just as it has been this season.
Let’s see how the team fares in the remaining four races of the 2011 Formula 1 season.
The next race is due to take place in Korea on October 16 at the Korea International Circuit.
