Help, Bathtub won't drain!?

Question

My bathtub is filled with bath water and it will not drain out, then my toilet started gurgling, then my shower(seperate from tub) filled up with nasty brown water and sewer looking stuff. Please Help!!

Get a Plumber to run a snake through the main line. Maybe even start at the toilet. Once it is cleaned out, run draino through it on a monthly basis. The problem could also be tree roots in the sewer pipe. Let a professional check it out. It will be worth it in the long run.

Your system is stopped up below the floor.  I can't tell you what to do unless I am looking at it, and can see if you have any access panels and how the ceilings are on the floor below you.

Your best bet is to call a plumber.

Do you have a septic system or city sewer?  It sounds like the septic is not working and is plugged up near the distribution tank,  or if city sewer a blockage in your house before the connection to the main city line.

You need a plumber.,   or a handy man with a 'snake' its a tool for unclogging pipes. This sounds like a job for roto-rooter.....seriously.

There is a blockage in your main sewer line. You might get on your roof and run a garden hose with a pressure nozzle down the vent (open pipe) and try to push it on through.

If there is a clean out plug you can also try there.

Your main line is clogged.  You need to get it rooted out (roto rooter or a plumber) with a plumbing snake.

Go to a plumbing supply store, ( not a Home Depot type place ),and buy '' Easyflow '' drain opener. This is the absolute best ever ! Cost $10. Worth every cent.  Open window, 9 if their is one ),Very slowly, pour it directly over drain, Since its heavier than water it will drop strait down to the drain. Don't breath the fumes, Read directions and follow them to the letter ! This stuff may smoke when you put it in. Good Luck !
