I am really worried about my dad. he is probaby around two hundred pounds, he is 6 feet and he eats a lot of ice cream. i find myself looking at other men, seeing if they are as fat as he is and i know this is terrible of me, but i feel better when i see other men who are more over weight that he is. how can i get him to loose weight without hurting him?

  1. I'm 6'1 and 210lbs.  I'm not fat.  You sure your dad is fat? 250-300 now that's fat.

  2. You can't make him lose weight, but you can and should tell him you're worried about his health because you love him.  I'm sure he'll appreciate it and know you're only worried because you care about him.

Maybe you can also suggest you both try to eat healthier and try to exercise more often, that way he won't feel like he's doing it alone.

    Good luck!

  3. tease him a bit and let him know you notice, nothing hurtful just playfully

  4. you should sit him down and talk to him about his weight and how you would like him to lose weight (say it in a nice way) and say how you have noticed him eating alot and maybe he will see your point

  5. 1. you can tell him how you feel about his eating

    2. tell him that ice-cream has a lot of sugar and fat

    3. tell him or you buy some sugar-free and fat-free ice-cream

    4. find some articles on men health issues on weight problems--high blood pressure, diabetes, cholosterol and how his eating too much sweets can have an impact on men (depending on your age, these can cause ED problems--so let your mom share this special topic with him since it would not be proper for you to tell him this).

  6. Explain to him that being overweight can cause many health problems like heart disease, high blood pressure, diabetes, high cholesterol, etc. and you want him to be around for a long, long time.  Ask him when was the last time he had a doctor's checkup?  Explain that you'd like for him to try doing better with his diet to avoid health risks.

  7. 200 pounds is normal for a man. Don't be so mean and leave him be.
