Help, I have an evil cat.

I have a 1 1/2yr old spayed female (Polly). The long and short of it is, she's evil. She's been evil ever since we got her when she was a kitten but my girlfriend wanted to keep her anyway. (She doesn't listen to me even though I'm always right). It seems like the cat does whatever she can to p**s me off and it makes me hate her. She obviously knows when she does something wrong cuz when I get up to squirt her with a watergun or something she's running and hiding before I enter the room. A list of the evil things she does would be: knocking over furniture, getting on the kitchen counter, pulling down curtains, steals washclothes, plays in the tub making a lot of noise, and climbing in the window blinds. I could go on but I'd rather not.

PLEASE HELP!!!!!

  1. consider ur self lucky, she'll grow out of that with time,u should meet our cat, Demon, truly EVIL cat, she attacks people who try to pet her, attacks other cats if to close, pukes, poops and pees everywhere, and stinks something nasty. i could go on but i dont wish to bore you.

she now lives in the downstairs bathroom.

  2. maybe its bored.  get it a scratching post and some toys and some catnip.  also keep a water gun handy and watch polly closely til her behavior improves.

  3. Your cat is just being a cat, but you squirting her, well that makes you a scary hairy beast, from her point of view.Having her fixed will keep her in a kitten stage of her life much longer, so enjoy. My cat is in the same fix, so I got her a pup to play with.

  4. Sounds like you got an energetic cat on your hands. I have a cat that is just like that but I don't consider her evil. Also the water gun is probably not helping. She probably don't know she is doing anything wrong and probably wonders why you are squirting her. Maybe you could try giving her some kind of play toy to keep her busy. Also if you really considered it necessary you could buy one of those devices that irritates the cat when you push a button. Personally I've never tried it because I consider it inhumane but I hear they can be effective in stopping unwanted animal behavior.

  5. My cat does the same stuff... only we don't call him evil. His name is Shadow, but we call him :Trouble.. lol..

He's just being a cat, get some toys for it. Get it spayed/neutered (if it's not) that might help calm it down a bit. It's a phase...

    don't give up!

  6. It sounds like your cat is not evil, just bored. I would suggest lots of mental stimulation involving toys and such. Also, be sure you are paying good attention to her, as she might be trying to get your attention. Catnip might help too.

  7. Don't worry.  It could be worse.

  8. Sounds like your cat is just being a cat. There's nothing evil about it, Cats have personalities and sometimes those personalities can clash with their owners. Also, young cats, like Polly tend to be quite active. She'll settle down in a year or so. But I kind of worry that your dislike of the cat is not healthy for either of you. An animal can tell if it's wanted, just like a child. If you can't get along with her you might want to find another home for her. Animals can bring a lot of peace and comfort to our lives. They can also create cycles of stress. And I think we all have enough of that as it is. Bottom line, if you can't come to terms with Polly, and learn to love her, she should go to another family.  Moth

  9. jus give to ppl or send to the animal clinic.

  10. I do feel your pain, but my kitty is so far just an ankle-biter. I had to laugh, a lot, at your list. Has the girlfriend used the water gun technique too? Does your cat have any toys to play with?

To stop the blinds- and curtain-climbing, spray things with something yucky to the cat. I got "Bitter Yuck!" spray that's supposed to stop a cat from chewing, but my cat also hates the smell. I'm planning on bathing in it tonight to stop the ankle-biting when I'm trying to sleep tonight. jk
