hi all, i have a flight on a thursday morn in aug from heathrow, check in 7am. i live in hartlepool and will be travelling down by train to kings cross the night before. by my research i reckon it would be cheaper for me to stay somewhere in kings cross then get the first tube to heathrow the following morning, i was told this was only £4 for the tube? need a cheap place to sleep and would rather not share a room. was also thinking of just going straight to heathrow and sleeping there on a bench if your allowed? any help ideas would be appreciated thanks all.

  2. You are allowed to sleep on a bench at Heathrow - I've done it before. In fact it might be best to go down and check in straight away, then kip on the bench.

If you do choose to stay in King's Cross, there is a youth hostel on Euston Road which is probably fairly cheap although it would mean sharing a dorm. That's probably a better bet than most budget places round there though as it has good standards.

And yes, the tube fare from there to Heathrow is £4.

  3. depending on how much you are wanting to spend roughly, the Ibis Euston is a nice place to stay and have stayed here on a number of occasions. Its only a 5 minute walk from Kings Cross
