Help, i need a cheap formal venue.?

i need help in finding an affordable venue in melbourne. there are a total of around 200 people attending and im looking for a price range at about $50 max.

2 yrs ago i was looking at venues for a get together party and the cheapest i could find is $200

my suggestion is if its not a wedding or anything why dont u hire a place for like $500 and charge everyone $5 for entree and tell everyone the $5 entree is for food/drinks and hall hire. iam sure they wont mind if the hall is a nice place and they can at least have a cpl nibbles.

if u have 200 ppl and $5 each. you would make $1000 and $500 can go to a very nice venue and $500 can go towards the food/drinks.

I am also looking for a venue or hall to hire and most places I have looked at are about $500.00 for the hall

or they want me to spend at least $500.00 on food...
