Help, i need a new ipod, which is better ipod classic or ipod touch?

I need a new ipod and i cant decide which to get, the ipod classic 80gb around £159 or the ipod touch 8gb for £199 which is best?

Depends on what you want. Neither is "best." You have a choice:

1. More space for your music and videos, but no internet. (Classic)

2. A lot less space, but internet access (Touch)

I prefer the Classic, myself, because I could fit my entire cd collection on it, but it ultimately comes down to your personal needs!

It all depends how much music, videos and pictures you want to put into your ipod. If you don't mind changing your music videos and pictures from time to time once you think they are getting old then go with the ipod touch, it's also because it has a multitouch interface, wi-fi and it looks s**y :D

But if you want to upload alot of music videos and pictures then go with the classic.

Ive had a 32GB ipod for 3 months now and it hasn't been once.

I have an 8gb touch and I love it but it does freeze from time to time and i have to ait for the battery to run down (8hrs) before it will start again which is v annoying. Watching films and music videos is great on it but the memory will go quickly if only 8gb and you are storing films. I'd go for classic for the memory but if 8gb is enough go for the touch for the picture quality.

iPod touch is best. the classic has more memory, but the iPod touch has features. It has endless possibilities, from virtual instruments to customized themes. Its not that great from the factory. Jailbreak it. It leads to endless applications for free unlike the 2.0 firmware which does the same thing but you gotta pay for every app. It's true that it does freeze sometimes, but hold down the home button and the power button for 5 seconds to force it to turn off.

The Classic one is more Smooth but the Touch is cooler.

I own an iPod touch 16GB and I wouldn't swap it for an iPod classic 160GB! Its not true, iPod touches can be jailbreaken. If you want Internet access, a 3.5inch screen and amzing colour display then get an iPod touch. If you want massive memory and a chunky old lump then get an iPod classic. I would go with an iPod touch. All the way!!! w00p, sorry I'm getting a bit carried away now. I'm writing from my iPod touch right now!!

I would go with the 80gb iPod classic. You'll appreciate all the extra space later, when you want tons of music videos, movies, tv shows, etc. Plus, iPod click wheel games, which are cheaper than most iPod Touch game apps.

You might want to consider this site. It has wide range of ipod from different generations.

I would recommend iPod Touch too.
