Help, my cat just had 12 kittens and I can't afford a vet?

Just kidding! My 9 week old Rocky just tiptoed up to sleeping Shasta (5 years old & spayed) and tried to nurse her! Since she didn't slap him, does that mean he's considered family now? She just nudged him away and he didn't try again. Shasta usually slaps cats who touch her.

  1. O,o Ahhh! I'm so glad this question isn't for real! All the world needs is 12 more kittens that belong to an idiot human.

Sounds like your cat is finally getting used to Rocky =)

  2. what?

  3. but yet you can afford a computer and internet access, and going out to eat, and get drunk often hun? :)  and I bet your cat doesn't even match your sofa, and you are allergic, so it really has to go.

*tosses belled ball to Rocky*  Very cute..

  4. awww :)

  5. Maybe she just knows hes a little kitten who doesn't know better or something like that  :)

  6. wow...

  7. I read the title and almost passed out!  Go Rocky! He is officially family now!

  8. lol

I saw the question and felt upset then I saw the name and laughed.  Good one.

It sounds like she just adopted a big baby. :)

After our girl healed from getting spayed she decided that the little kitten we found shortly before that was hers.  She was a stray and has had at least two litters of her own and seems a bit lost without all the raging hormones so she's been mothering him.  He's very pleased with the situation too.  He tries to nurse on one of the boys too, the only one who lets him, he's managed to become a very spoiled little guy.

  9. sounds like they are pals

  10. Funny!

and I liked your "JOKE" "i can't afford a vet"

  11. OMG, I was getting ready to go off on you.  LOL.

  12. Aw!  It sounds like she has "adopted" him.  How sweet!

  13. Right now she recognizes Rocky as a youngster, so instinctively she will be more tolerant... but that can change as he gets older.

Since she can not truly suckle him, I would recommend you discourage the behavior because if it becomes ingrained it can be problematic for all later.
