Ok so my friend tricked me into typing in an Alt code on a folder on my desktop, now the folder can be used by putting items in it, but it will not go anywhere, and it cannot be deleted when i try to move it nothing happens i click deleted nothing happens i drag to the trash nothing happens. How i inserted the Alt code was renaming it i don't remember Alt code because he showed it to me about 2 months ago but when i wanted to delete it, it would not go away. So please help! (if this is nessesary) I have Windows Vista (and i don't want any remarks from people saying vista bites because it does not i have had it for about 2 years and this is my first big problem, but i believe this is possible on windows xp so its NOT VISTAS FAULT!

*NOTE*

My friend does NOT know how to get it off as this is the first time he tried it (lucky me -.-)

  1. Why is it such a big deal that it gets deleted? It's just a folder, right? It's not harming anything.

Maybe if you try to rename it again. I dunno, I've never heard of this before.

  2. when you first turn on the computer, press F8 once a second to enter the windows boot menu so you can boot into Safe Mode.  Log in and you should be able to delete the folder.  Restart the computer and you're good to go.
