Help, my new pet nice STINK!?

Question

i have gotten 2 cute mice, but they stink, they pee constantly, and their cage reaks, ive tried several types of litter, but after 1 day, they stink my room out. they pee everywhere, its aweful since they are long haired mice and soo cute!

Go to a petstore. They have odor control sprays that ou can spray in you cage. You pets might be drinking a lot also. Try giving them less water.

I've found that mice just have  certain distinct odour, particularly male mice.  Some things you can do are to take a look at what beddings you are using and how you are cleaning the cage.

I found that using a vinegar to clean the cage and all accessories was helpful.  I'd then give the cage a thorough rinse with water.  I also found that using Carefresh kept the smell down more than any other bedding, and that twice daily cleaning of any soiled areas helped as well.

I think you may be faced with additional problems because they are long haired and the hair will likely get urine soaked.  No clue what to do about that.

There are a few things you can do...

Go to Pets at Home and buy some bedding called Care Fresh. It's really absorbent and will help soak up some of the wee. You can also buy something called cage fresh granules. This is like a sand that you put under the newspaper in the cage. It absorbs some of the wee and smells nice which keeps the cage fresh. It is also a good idea to clean the cage regularly (about every 3 days should do it)

Also, don't feed your mice cheese, or cheese flavoured treats because it makes the mice smell for some reason.

Well since there new they will do that my hamster stubnk for the first month and they pee becaouse they are nervous you will probally get some pee on your hand lol they may also pee on the wheel when they run on it since they are nervous about the new wheel and you should just probally clen the cage once a week now my hamster is 6 months and my mom loves her since she smells greeat since shes not nervous anymore and i clean her cage once a week
