Help, the lights on my audio reciever have gone out?

i have a pioneer reciever that i bought back in 1986, the reciever still works very well, but the display lights have gone out,it started to flicker and fade and now they are completly out, can anyone tell me how to restore the display, can i do it myself or is there an audio fix-it shop that replace the bulbs,someone told to look on the web but they dont if i can replace the bulb my self or what type of bulb or display i need, i would appreciate any info as to where i can find these bulbs or how much they cost, my model number is vsx5400(1986)thanks

  1. AHHHH can't beat a nice classic like that, and is worth every cent to replace the bulbs.. Your nearest radio shack should have the bulbs you need to fix ...good luck

    p.s your model number can't be found on the Internet it coming up with the new generation model's are you sure it isn't SX-5400?
