  1. Well, I'm 14 and I'm in 8th grade too, but I usually go to bed at 10:00, otherwise I'd be really tired in the morning. Sometimes I am anyway but it really depends on what time you get up. My school starts at 7:15 and I get up at 5:45-6:00. If your school starts later, I don't see why you can't. Ask your step-dad to let you prove yourself and have like "trial mornings" or something.

  2. How bout you make a compromise? Instead of 10:30 maybe 10:15 or 10:00 if ur OK with it. If not, stick 2 the 10:15. So tell ur step dad, "I need time 2 recollect my thoughts and relax b4 sleeping, can I read or something for just 15 or 20 minutes more? It soothes me, and I can sleep better."

Remember ur still a kid and DO need ur sleep 2 grow.

If 10:15 doesnt work, prove 2 him ur responsible, (do ur homework, shower, clean ur room, and wake up on time) without being told.

    Good luck!!!!

    Best wishes ( =

  3. Whats ur bedtime now?  I think you should wait till high school to ask for a later bedtime.

  4. The point of a bedtime is to make sure you get enough rest during the night. Honestly you should be awake and ready to start the day BEFORE your alarm clock goes of. If not - your bedtime is probably already too late.

If you really want a later bedtime, I think the best way to prove you are ready for it would be to wake up earlier. Example: Are you supposed to be up by 6:30 AM? Wake up at 5:30 several days in a row. Let it be known that they are setting aside too much time for you to rest.

But chances are that you just want to stay up until 10:30 because your current bedtime sounds too early. I use to stay up past midnight at your age and now I can see what a bad choice it was. In the long-run, people who take better care of their bodies while young are generally healthier and happier as adults. You are lucky to have a stepdad who cares.

What is your current bedtime anyhow? I have known parents who send their kids to bed at 5:30PM at your age. I think that is way too early. But 9 or 10 should be good (depending on what time you wake up and how active you are during the day)

  5. Say I will still try my best still or something make him feel bad it works everytime

  6. tell him you have to look a bunch of stuff up for homework and they said it would take till 10:30

  7. I think 13 is too young to stay up until 10:30.  What exactly do you think happens after 10 pm that you need to stay up for?  Is there a show on tv you like?  Is it the "cool" thing to do?  When I was 13, I had to go to bed by 9:30.  Teens need a lot of sleep.  I think you should just accept their bedtime and be grateful that your step dad cares enough about you to lay down some limits.

  8. Tell them that you have a big project to do and you have to stay up late to do it.Or talk to them tell them that you think you are old enough to stay up to 1030 you could tell your dad that you really want to try it.If you end up waking up late for school tell your parents you promise to go to bed when your suppose to.

  9. Tell him ur not a baby anymore and ur a grown person who makes her own decisons. tell him ur responsiable and i know wen im tired or not.
