Me and my boyfreind have been dating for 5 months. His mom does not like me so when he turned 18 (and I turned 17) she started saying that she could and would turn him in to the police for dating me. Would he get in trouble? I mean when we started dating he was 17 and I was 16. What are the laws for that in Oregon?? I just don't want him getting in trouble. Please help!!!

  1. yea its against the law

his mom sounds like a *****

  2. Don't have s*x and you're fine.  Wait until you're 18.

  3. Relax.  It's not against the law for you to have s*x.  The age of consent in Oregon is sixteen.  You're both old enough.

Wow, his mother is seriously screwed up, huh?  Threatening to put her own son in prison, and ruin his life, because she doesn't like you?!  Plus, she isn't even smart enough to know it's an empty threat.  I mean, you outta know the laws of your own state by the time you're what, thirty?  Sad.

Please use some chemical birth control method carefully, and make sure you both get an education so you don't end up living with her, okay?  :)

BTW, if he wants to go to college in another state, don't blame him.

  4. His mom is not going to put her own kid to jail. Relax.

  5. google is your friend....

  6. Well, its actually a common misconception that once you turn 18, you can no longer touch anyone younger than you without being arrested. In reality, the age of consent (which - in most states is younger than 18) determines what age someone can decide what types of relationships they want to be in. I listed a website with all of this information.

As for your state specifically, it appears you can be in a relationship with someone, you just cannot be sexually involved until you are 18. So unless she catches you two going at it - I'm sure you'll both be fine.

  7. check this page out.....it states the oregon law is a 3 year leniency. which means if you are 17, he can be up to 20 legally.

  8. Look up your states statutes or contact your county court house. In most cases no. The only issue that could come up is if you are having s*x. You are 17 and he is 18, the DA probably wouldn't pursue any charges. In Oregon under 16 is a problem.

  9. she's not going to report her own son. its ok lol. just dont have s*x for another year or so. when your adults and on your own supporting yourselves theres not alot parents can do.

  10. Im pretty sure its only illegal if you two are having s*x. His mom sounds like a *****.

  11. Don;t have s*x no problem.

  12. uhmm

in cali thats illegal cuz 17- is still a minor or sumthing and yea i think he can cuz hes 18

but wut kind of d**k cop wud arrest him

  13. Just dating, or having s*x, drugs, and rock & roll, etc.?

See the Oregon Revised Statutes - 2007 Edition, volume 4.

    http://www.leg.state.or.us/ors/

or go to the public library & look it up.

    ======================================...

  14. Not for DATING - but for having s*x.

Chances are nothing would happen even if she did for your having s*x (she sounds like a real assho1e) - most likely he'd get off fine because well they'd understand.

BUT there are cases where the male has to be put on that sexual predator list.... Just be careful.

  15. She would have to prove you two were having s*x for anything bad to happen.  There are no laws against just dating.
