...with the destruction of a black threaded wasp nest.

What should I expect? We were going to swat it down with a broom in the morning when they are asleep. It's on a third story balcony. I hate bugs. Should I run after I do it?

  1. yes. run. also, wear gloves, just in case. if it is on a balcony, and you are destroying it at 5 am, you should be pretty safe. but run anyway, and don't go back to that spot for a while, or the spot where the nest falls. good luck!

  2. That's a good hour to stage your attack but think about what happens if you just swat it down.  Other people might get stung because they weren't part of your plan.

When I've had wasp and hornet nests in the past I've used the early morning strategy but with wasp and hornet spray.  Some products shoot a stream 10 - 15 feet (3-5meters) which gives you adequate space and time to avoid getting stung.

This way you inactivate the nest so when you do swat it down there are no wasp to sting anyone else.

  3. Its going to fall. break open and seven million wasps are going to come out, REALLY ANGRY.this will not help with your neighbors and puts you at real risk.

Use the long distance spray the other guy recommended...it kills on contact so even when a few come out when you start spraying you can get 'em.

  4. it would be better to use wasp knock down spray.
