Help?? 6 minuter mile.

I have to run the mile in 6 minutes 25 seconds today to pass the requirements for my football team, but my fastest mile is only 7 minutes 6 seconds. How can I run this mile faster in 3 hours.

  1. If you only have 3 hours, training won't exactly do anything besides make you more tired.  Try not to worry too much about it.

    Instead while you're running the race, you're going to need to keep pushing yourself to be able to run that time.  Know how much you want to make the football team.


  2. Just jog aroung, for like half an hour. Nothing intense. Just enough to get you in immediate shape and make your body a little used to running. And get hydrated.(meaning get some water in the trunk)

  3. rest for 2 and half hours, then have a cofffee or isotonic drink. do some stretchs and a warm up. adrenalin and pressure of being timed should make u cut that half minute off. think positive. u can do it.

  4. if you have access to a track, do build ups. Make sure on the last lap you're going pretty fast at the beginning up to as fast as you can towards the end


  5. you can do it!! don't do any work outs or anything it won't help you at this point it will only slow you down. but what you can do is rest and try to get your mind off of it. then when it is time try to eat or drink something to give you a lot of energy. and if you keep up with the rest of the guys you will do fine. just think if fooball really means that much to you you can and will do what it takes to be on the team

    make sure to bring a stopwatch and if you don't have one try to go out and buy one like now. it will help you with your pace if your half way through and at 4 min. you know you will need to speed up.... ect.
