  1. never leave your mom when she needs you the most. She needs help, and she needs your support. Overcome this together.

  2. i think you should call cops. they can help your mom get into rehab and get you into a home untill better. or u can crash at a good freinds house untill u think u can come home.

  3. You're 'filing for dependency'?  Huh?  Do you mean you're filing for emancipation?

  4. YES! Do what you think best!!!

  5. talk to her when she is not drunk so she will understand. Keep in close touch and visit her a lot if that is posable. Try to find her some help before you leave. I think she will be fine if she has doctors help and support from you and other family members. Do whatever makes you feel comfortable.

    Hope this helps!

  6. Maybe your moving out is exactly the slap in the face your mom needs to make her wake up and straighten up. You need stability so you can get on with your life.

See if you can move in with a relative that will file with a court to become your legal guardian... try an aunt or a grandparent. Perhaps your friends' parents will do this. Without such a document in place, it is possible that you can be dragged back.

At 17, it is possible nobody will drag you back.

Do what you can to stabilize your situation... get through school and graduate (or at least get a GED), work and save your money. Look into vocational education programs and financial aid. As an "operational orphan" you should be able to qualify for all sorts of grants and aid.

  7. no u r not a bad person.  she is an adult and a parent and she should be able to take care of both of u.  if she cant take care of herself u have a right to take care of u.
