  1. sounds like someone needs a new car.

  2. The gasket materials that are squeezed between your engine block parts have worn down and is allowing engine oil to leak into one or more of your combustion chambers.

In addition to fuel being burned by your spark plugs, engine oil is being burned resulting in dark smoke coming out of your exhaust.  You'll find yourself adding more engine oil as it continues to seep through the gaps into your combustion chambers.

Go to your local auto parts store and buy a head gasket kit (about $130 from your local auto parts store).  If you have tools, you can do this on your own.  Or you could get a shop to perform the labor for you.  First ask for the total price for replacement, then break it down to their price on just new gasket parts only, then determine their remaining charge for labor.  Compare the labor prices between various shops.

    Good luck!

  3. gee, black smoke comes from the exhaust, a sign of burning oil. and you seem to be using more oil, sign of burning oil. i'm gonna take a shot in the dark and say it's an oldcar, maybe it's burning oil? next oil change request a good quality (penzoil, quaker state for ex.) oil, in straight 40 weight. also have them add a can of  wynns engine treatment. this will extend the life of the engine abt a year if you use it every change, and keep the engine topped up. you are probably well on the way to 200k miles on there, the piston rings as well as valves are probably shot, what with replacing those deglazing the cylinders, and all the other parts that are likely worn, to little too late to overhaul the engine, time for a rebuilt one or better yet trade in to something a little newer.

  4. You are definitely burning oil. Have your engine compression tested to determine if it's the piston rings. You may be better off buying a new engine for the price if the rings are bad.

In which case you could swap in a D series (stock), a B series (Integra) or maybe a few other combinations. I'd personally opt for a 1.8 liter B series.

  5. the black smoke out of exhaust is oil your car is burning oil, sounds as if you may have a leak somewhere get it checked might be your head gasket

  6. Run some cleaner through your fuel tank, one bottle, so it can clean it out really good. Its a 95,  so I'm guessing it has some miles on it, and if you drive like me, then you probably push oil out of the valve cover and you may have bad valve guides, or it could be coming to an end. My 94 toyota smoked a little because it only saw redline all the time. You may be leakig oil somewhere. Change oil, plugs, air filter and put some stuff in your engine that stops oil consumption. Just ask advance auto or auto zone what the best would be. White smoke is the block, black and brown looking smoke is fuel related, injectors and things, and blue is oil, could be using some. Look at exhaust as soon as you start it, after it sets all night, of course, and see if it smokes. Rev it up just a bit to see if it smokes, then look at color. If its blue then oil is leaking around your valve guides, meaning its using oil. Black will be pretty much anytime because of fuel, and white when you open it up unless you have a crack in the head gasket, then that will be all the time as well. Sounds like you need to take it easy. God bless and good luck.

  7. There is oil in the combustion chamber. Either from worn piston rings or a blown head gasket. most likely worn rings seeing as in how your hitting high rpms a lot. Take it to a shop and have them do a compression check on each cylinder. If the compression is low then youll need new piston rings. The rings are cheap but to replace them arent.

  8. You might need rings, but before you check that, try replacing your PCV valve.  It's a little plastic doolie that usually is incorporated in  a port somewhere on the intake system.  They're only a few bucks, and a wonky one could cause what you're seeing.

  9. You have a bad head gasket. oil is leaking into your cylinders which is causing you that black residue to build up that black smoke. I would suggest getting a new engine. However if the old one is still good, I suggest you replace the gaskets and get a complete tune up. Plus use some of that smoke begone to help get rid of that black smoke.
