Help!! Accident when making trifle....?

Am making the trifle that you get in a box and added too much milk for the cream that goes on the top is there anything I can use to thicken it up? Please help asap

  3. I've never seen a trifle in a box:)  ... Maybe you could add a small package of instant vanilla pudding to thicken it....

  4. that's too bad,ruined for sure,no amount of whipping is going to thicken this lot ,try adding some more milk ,now you have a rich milk,make a custard of it using custard powder or corn flour with flavor of your choice,when thick enough to coat the back of a wooden spoon,allow to cool & spread over .

    Other alternative is discard which is a bit wasteful ,use whipping cream to spread

  5. Try whipping it for quite a while until it thickens up, if that doesnt work you could ad a bit of icing sugar or conrflour/starch and keep whipping it and that might do the trick.

  6. It won't work now. Is it that Bird's Dream whip or something?

    You're supposed to make it just before you serve it. If you keep it in the fridge it changes so it's not as smooth. I suppose you could use squirty cream or whisk some double cream and spread that on top. If you don't have either of them, cover the custard with fruid salad. Chopped strawberies that type of thing to cover up the mess.

    I can't believe some people on here don't even know what a blummin trifle is.

  7. Hi I dont think there is you could always just go and get some squirty cream or cream in a carton from the shop as most shop sell it, the cream that comes with the box trifles isnt really too nice anyways.

    But if you have to use it jsut serve it seperatly to the trifle it will still taste the same noone will mind.
