Question:

Help - African Dwarf frogs dying?

I have had two of my AFD's die within the last two weeks. They did not have any visible signs of disease. The temperature is accurate for them, and the size of tank is appropriate. I checked the water levels for PH and ammonia, as well as nitrates. All were normal, except the nitrates were a little high, but not enough to kill them. The fish in the aquarium also show no signs of disease and have not been bothering the frogs at all. Is there something else I should be checking for?

  1. AFD's are practically blind and aren't very good swimmers so you shouldn't have a tank where its taller than a foot and they can really see their food so you should put the food right next to them.

if they wont eat it you have to take them out and practically hand feel em.

also they're community fish and need company.

just make sure they're not aggravated or else they'll get sick.

  2. maybe they died because they needed some air.... but they were to slow or something...

  3. Mine died mysteriously also, and our tank is just about in the same condition.

  4. mine died also.  im not sure what to look for.  i tried about 3 diffrent times and they all died so i just stopped buying them so i didnt kill anymore.  lol
