Question:

Help! Best alcoholic beverage for sensitive stomach???

I have a sensitive stomach and would throw up almost every time I drank. I came to find that I can drink white wine and lots of it and still never get sick! But I am going to a bar tonight and don't want to drink wine. Can anyone recommend a liquor drink that may not be as harsh on my stomach (as long as I only drink that and not go crazy ordering everything)

  1. Just because you are going to a bar, doesn't mean you have to drink liquor. Stick to your guns, smile, and order a non alcoholic drink, and have a good time. Then you can sit back, laugh, talk, dance, and watch all the others make jackasses out of themselves.

  2. Honestly, if your stomach is that sensitive to alcohol, I'd say stay away from it completely. I get bad heart-burn and acid reflux when I drink, so I tend to pop a tums or two before I drink, just to avoid problems later. I dunno if that would work for you?

It's strange the way we react to different things. A friend of mine, for example, is the nicest drunk you'll ever meet, unless he gets drunk on whiskey. Anything else, he's fine. If he gets drunk on whiskey, he's mean, he blacks out, and he's dangerous.

  3. Stick with non carbonated and not too sweet. Stay with one type of drink and take a sip of water in between ever sip of alcohol. Remember to eat two hours before you drink and don't eat while you are drinking or before 2 hours after you start. Good luck!

  4. for some reason i never get sick after drinking lots of vodka and grapefruit juice. i would avoid mixing with carbonated beverages.

  5. Beer.

Are you barfing because you drank too much alcohol, but can drink more wine because of the lower alc. content"?  If so, beer.

If you are just queezy??  Order a mixed drink tall, meaning more mixer, less alcohol.  You could order juice drinks like a screwdriver (vodka and OJ) or something with milk like a white russian (milk, vodka and kahlua).

Otherwise, bad news - liquor is hard on the tum!  Have fun tonight.

  6. maybe you should stick to cranberry juice.

  7. Try vodka with cranberry or captain morgan with 7up (tastes kind of like a two tone)
