The nest is in an opening between the brick and roof of the house, and baby birds have fallen out before and we've found them after it was too late..the baby's right now are big enough to where they can fall out..should we cover up the opening? I don't want them to fall when we are not here and find them later! Please help!

  1. Sure block it just a little bit but make sure there is room for the mother bird to go in

  2. Yes, leave them alone. You might do more harm than good by blocking it up. E.g. you might scare mum and dad away or stop them from feeding or fledging. It is normal for some of the brood to die anyway. Survival of the fittest and all that.

If you must, you could leave something soft for them to fall on.

  3. Leave them alone - let nature take its course.

  4. You need to just let them be.

If you see a baby bird on the ground that is not covered with feathers, pick it up and put it back in the nest.

If the baby has feathers, leave it alone. They learn to fly be leaving the nest and hopping around.

  5. Let nature do it's own thing. Don't touch the babies whatever you do though or the mother will abandon it.

  6. It's better to let it be. Interfering could cause more problems.

  7. its best to leave them alone if you find one that had fallen out best not to touch but if you have to use gloves latex if possible because if the mother picks up your sent she will not touch them or feed them
