Help! Birthday Party -- Murder Mystery!!?

Hey guys :D

Right, Ive got my birthday party coming up in September, and i know its ages away but there's LOADS to do!! And for one part of my party im having a murder mystery game! Now, Im on quite a low budget for a lot of things to buy, and a murder mystery game I just cant afford! I know they might only be 20 quid, but I could buy a few decorations with that. Its a cruise ship themed party, so could the story have something to do with a ship? I just need help with it! Any ideas, characters, tips etc. are all welcome. Please help!! Thanks xx

I used this website about a year ago and we all had a awesome time, and its free. I think they do have a ship themed party. All you need is a printer

heres 1, buy all the pieces 4 classic clue except the people. they name themselves and the rooms would be like ship cabins, dining rooms etc.

Well you can have the person murdered be the captain of the ship.You can just use things around the house for prop type things.Then you need index cards to name people and hand them out randomly to the people.Then the other characters can just be regular people on the ship.Like other people who work on the ship and then just people on the cruise.Then with props can be some weapons made of paper or like fake guns from the dollar store.Then just use some creativity.Hope this helped

Play the game called murder in the dark. Have someone who is not playing cordinate who the murderor will be. Have everyone sit in a circle blindfolded and the cordinator will tap on someone's shoulder. the person who gets tapped will know that they are the murderor and no one else will. the objective is to find the murderor. You can get in teams. however the murderor will pretend to find the murderor even though they are the murderor. and eventually they kill their partner. basically you say, 'you're dead. bam bam.' to your partner and the partner screams. So now people know that someone is dead. I've never played this, my sister did it at her birthday party.

That murder mystery theme sounds so cool. Maybe you should put in less things but not dramticly low. also I think you should have a clue based gameplay with weapons evreywhere ( BY EVREYWHERE I MEAN HIDDEN). But if there is alot of ppl then forget the notepad part of clue... >.< Hope this helped
