Question:

Help! Booking tours today! What should a 20 year old do/see in Rome, Venice, and Florence?

I'm booking tours today for my trip to these cities. I want to book the tours that cover the widest range of places, instead of a bunch of little tours.

What should I incorporate?

Any help would be great. Thanks so much!

  1. Don't worry about Venice, you can walk it in one day.  There is a lot to see, but taking a tour is pointless.  You have to walk anyway, there are no vehicles allowed in the city.

In Florence theres a red bus across from the Termini.  It's 20Euro for 2 days.  It's one of those double decker, jump on jump off, busses.  It will take you near or to all the major sites.  It will also take you to Feosole (sp?).  A quaint little town up the hill from Florence.  Totally worth it.

In Rome we took a tour that the city put on.  It was 13Euro, again it took us directly to or near all the major sites.  This is only for one day though.  If you get up really early you can get to the Campo di Fiore in the AM and plan a great picnic at one of your stops.  Another day, I believe it's the 72 bus that takes you to Testavere.  Take a whole day there.

Don't plan too much, wing it.  Also, get a book called "lets go Italy".  It was a godsend.
