  1. Grab some cheap yarn and make him a mane and a tail, (great big loops for tail, tied to a belt, or yarn tied around his waist, smaller loops for mane, tied along a piece of yarn that runs from his forehead to the back of his neck) and some felt to make him ears(a leaf shape, folded in half.).  Use bobby pins or more yarn to attach the ears and mane to his head.  Black gloves and shoes for hooves.

Dress him all in one color.  Horses come in black, brown, grey, white, yellow (dun), red (sorrel) and blue(roan).  There are "paint" horse(spotted) and Appoloosas (spots on the butt), but you don't need to go that far.

Let him wear his socks outside his pants for "stockings" if he wants to.

    Have fun!

  2. get a hoodie and sew/glue a yarn mane and felt ears on the hood and a yarn tail on the back hem.

  3. Go to ehow.com it will give you step by step directions. or go to halloween costumes search horse.

  4. Make a mask with a long "horse" type nose and two pointy ears out of cardboard (he can help), paint it black, and put him in plain black clothes. (Or white or grey or brown, depending on what colour clothes he has).

  5. www.coolest-homemade-costumes.com   is a great place to get some ideas...very simple ideas..

  6. We make a lot of stuff out of very little.

I would dress him in a brown out fit.  (I used a red sweat suit once for Santa and a brown one for a dog)

Then you could take a girls brown head band, the kind that is usually plastic, attach two triangular ears to the top of it and you could attach a black mane to it too tto hang down the back.

I've made my son's face brown too.

Home made stuff is soooo satisfying.  We used to get sooo excited to make stuff, my son's imagination would be going full speed.  (he's 11 now, so it's kind of over now)

  7. how about dress him all in brown and give him and empty coconut shell to make the clopping noise? Everyone will know what he is

  8. Get a brown turtle neck and some brown material to cover him. make a tunic ..just fold a length of material, cut a hole for the head and tie it at the waist, you can make ears out of craft foam and attach to a headband.

hmm Lets see what else does a horse need.. a mane could be made out of yellow yarn.. maybe take some of that brown material cut a long strip; attach the yarn to it. Then attach that to the headband that has the ears on it. The tail can be made out of yarn too.
