  1. Well, think of it this way, many people who attended GRADUATE school didn't get into med school until the 4th or 5th try. Imagine how hard it would be to get in starting in community college (not that there is anything wrong with that).

From my personal experience, I would say, do well in HS.... apply to a good four year college where you can major in something relevant to medicine (biology..etc) and stay on top of your grades! Medical school is very competitive, so make sure that you make connections early on in college, this means volunteering, and giving up your free time till you want to cry...

Don't worry though, in the long run it is not as hard as it seems... I mean if you like going to class for eight hours, and studying for another eight hours once you get home...

After all is said and done, it is worth it!

    Good Luck!

  2. Here's more detail than you asked for:

Medical school admission requirements are established by the accrediting authority (the LCME).  The minimum requirements are 90 semester hours (that include the prerequisite courses) and the MCAT exam.  However, the majority of medical schools have added additional requirements, such as obtaining your undergrad degree.

Now, I haven't polled every medical school, but most do not care if you take some or all of your prerequisite courses in a community college.  But if you intend to do that, you need to be aware of a couple of things.  Most four year colleges require that you transfer a minimum of 30 semester hours and all of your pre-req courses will not total up to that, which means you have to take additional courses.  You need to insure that ALL the courses you intend to transfer to a 4-year college are accepted by that college and satisfy their requirements for your major (as well as the pre-req courses being Major level courses).  Never take a community college's word for it--always verify with the 4-year school.

  3. well you cant go from cc straight to medical school anyway so just get into a good 4 year college and have a great gpa and you should be set for medical school

  4. Your CC grades will transfer to a 4-year university, and the bachelors degree is what you need to get into medical school.  As long as the 4-year accepts your credits from the CC, you are fine.
