Help! Deck 2 on Legend of the Seas (Royal Caribbean)?

this is the only available deck for oceanview room for my preferred sailing date. this is my 1st cruise so i really don't know about the experience inside the decks.

i know that its gonna be far to get to the top deck public areas but does it really matter? we're not pool people and the main dining is only 2 floors above...

how about the noise from engine/anchor releasing etc...? is it gonna be loud?

will having a lower deck means we will be the last to embark/disembark?

will the crew treat us any less just because we have a lower deck cabin?

i wonder how is the view from a deck 2 oceanview cabin?

Stop worrying! You'll spend so little time in the cabin, you could be in a closet and you won't mind. If you have an oceanview on deck 2, you'll have a good view of the water. Look for flying fish. You will NOT hear engines, or anchors or any other ship sounds other than announcements and partiers. Disembarking is done by transportation priority--if you have a flight to catch, you'll be among the first to disembark. If you're staying in town, you'll be among the last. Even if you are the last person to leave the ship, the wait is not long or tedious. They'll serve breakfast on the ship. The crew doesn't care what cabin you are in. They'll barely pay any attention to your cabin number unless you are in a suite. They are after tips and you'll be treated well. Have fun! you're gonna love it. Legend has some very nice art on board.

Don't worry . All of the cabins in an oceanview category look the same. Some may be little bigger but not much. As long as the casino or night clubs are not real close to you the noise factor will be minimal. The crew will not treat you any different as there are no classes on ships anymore. Do you have a window or balcony? I think deck 2 is a window. Once you set sail you will spend little time in the room as there is a lot going on around the ship.

The legend of the Seas is not a new ship.  The ship was built in 1995.  On this ship, deck number 2 will be one of the better places to have an outside cabin.  The floors up above floor five could have a view of the life boats.  The view is called an obstructed view.  

You will feel less of the ship movement on the bottom floors and you are closer to the bottom deck which is used to leave the ship for each port.

The embarkation depends on when you arrive at the pier.  The earlier you arrive, the sooner the passenger can board.  Disembarkation depends on the color given to your floor as to when you get off the ship.  You may also leave earlier than your color, but you need to let the ship know the reason for early departure.  

The crew should not treat you any different because you are on a different floor.  Their income depends on your tips.  They do not get paid for cleaning your room unless tips are given to them on the last night of sailing.  They will work hard for you if they know the tip will be good.

The noise of the ship engine will depend on whether you are at the front of the ship or the back of the ship.  The ships of today have quiet engines and the noise is not that bad.  The noise that is heard normally is the thrusters which are used to take off from port or to position the ship coming into port.

i usually on the top deck for living rooms, as it is a better place if you dont like a rocking boat.

so i cant speak first hand,  but you shouldnt be able to hear anything.  It should be low depending if your in the front or back.

A good thing about being in the lower decks is when the mustar drill you dont have to walk down as much, i usually have to walk down all those flights.   So you got it easy.  Really, you probably wont be in the room long, there are plenty of activties and you will really be in the room for alittle while.

Lower decks doesnt mean you will get off last,  RC isnt like that. It depends on your flights.

- Your crew and house keeper will not treat you different.  Absoutly not,  RC is one of the best and they all care for people the same way.  You dont have to worry about anything like that.  There is no favoritist,  The only thing is that you will not be able to go to the concerier lounge, which is a private area where top deck suites(only i believe) they get to go and get movies, food and drinks.  

But i have been there on 5 ships, your not missing much.

The view, im not sure of.  But as long as you have a view it will be fine.  Again you will probably be up and around the ship most of the time.

The most important thing is, remember your on vaction, ENJOY yourself,  cruising isnt for everyone,  but i love it and you might to.  The key is really to enjoy yourself.

I was on the Vision of the seas a sister ship of the legend, there is less motion on deck two, the higher you go the more you feel the motion.

noise on deck two depends on where your cabin is

I had a inside on the vision mid ship and it was so quiet.

you will be treated the same

the view you will be very close to the water line.

Legend of the Seas was Built in 1995.  This could be a ship that is nicely maintained and have staff that is friendly and responsive to cruisers OR it could mean an average cruise. there are not as many bells and whistles on the ship as the bigger ones, but that is not necessarily a bad thing.  You should not hear too much noise if you are in the middle of the ship. Sometimes in the back of the ship there is some noise with the equipment they use to dock.   (maybe in the morning)

Crew should treat you with respect and not treat you differently than those with more expensive cabins.
