I'm 15 years old and I had a interview with the manager for a job. She asked me my basic info. and she asked why she should hire me. I couldn't really raise my voice; i don't know why. but she heard me. i said cause i'm reliable, i like to get things done fast, and that i take initiative when someone whose responsible isn't there. then she said alright and asked if i can handle not being scared and shy. i said yes and she said are you sure. i said yes again...did i do bad? be honest =/ i hate being shy it sucks..i probably won't get a job when i'm older because of this=[ everywhere i go ppl see me as shy its like glued to me

  1. It sounds to me like you did well. I have been on the other end giving interviews and I would definitely give you a chance. You answered the question good. Good luck!

  2. Don't worry, you'll get hired for sure.  They would much rather have some who is shy than a know-it-all..

  3. dont' worry, its just McDonalds, not some big thing. i think you did just fine! your first answer was great!!!

  4. yes you did very well.

    gd luck

    x*x

    dont worry

  5. trust me, you should get the job. my dog could get hired at mcdonalds. they dont care!

  6. She kept askin because your voice was low try to raise your voice a bit and you'll do fine.

  7. The McDonalds I have been to are full of shy students working there.

You should be fine. As long as you were polite and clean.

  8. i bet you 100% u got the job, trust me, but why mcdonalds?? they pay u the lowest like 7

  9. LOL it's McDonalds. I get that this is your first job and you are nervous, but they are *always* looking for help. Chances are that their criteria for hiring people is for them to be able to speak English and count currency. If you don't get it, just apply at another location. You should not be stressing out over this.

  10. my gf is a shift runner there she just looked n said you'll be fine! And most school leavers are pretty shy at first but she's sure within a few weeks you'll soon come out of your shell :-)

  11. Its okay to be shy but no you didn't do bad you actually did good. But its okay to be shy.Everyone can be shy sometimes.

  12. when you work at a place like mcdonalds...you need to be vocal and have a clear voice, she was probably just making sure you don't have a problem with this

  13. I don't think you did terrible!

It's okay to be shy, especially if it's your first interview, as long as you can get your job done within those constraints. If it keeps you from dealing with customers, or working with other people, that's a different issue. Based on your answers to her questions, I don't think that's the case with you.

But I don't think you did anything wrong just by showing your shyness in the interview.

Best of luck, and don't worry too much!

  14. im sure you did fine mcdonalds always needs people so youll probly get it.h

  15. as long as you can speak English (which you obviously can) then you should be good!

  16. Hey, you did alright. Good luck to you.

  17. it's mcdonalds. you'll get the job.

  18. No it's ok she will probably go a little easy on you because you are only 15 and this could be your first job.

  19. I think you will do fine, but I think you better work on being less shy a lot! And I am not 100% sure that you will get hired!!!!!!!:(!!!!!

  20. if you get the job, you're fine. If not, then apply somewhere else and don't be all shy. Time to grow up! :)

  21. oh girl, it is ok. It is just McDonald's, not Donald Trump.

    You did fine

and congrats on your new job!
