it is a B-rated 90's movie where a black man turns into a white newscaster to hide from the mob or something. This is driving me crazy! Do you know what it is called????

I think that it's the other way around;  a white guy poses as black to avoid the mob...Brother something?  Something Brother?  I tracked this down once, and it was really hard.

There's a movie called 'True Identity' where a mobster on a plane (played by Frank Langella) confesses his true identity to a black actor sitting next to him when he thinks the plane is about to crash.  The actor (Lenny Henry) then poses as a white man to escape from him.  Not sure if this is the one you're looking for - I don't remember anything about him being a newscaster.
