  1. My mother used to collect dolls.  She has since passed away but I remember when she was alive my father had gotten the name of a man who appraised dolls.  There are many factors involved most importantly is the condition of the doll, whether there are scratches and in what places the scratches are in.  Were the eyes of the doll in a separate socket, and how many dolls of that kind were made and how many are speculated to be in existence now.  Anyway, when my mother and father went to the appraiser, I remember they paid like $100 and they got a written appraisal of what the dolls were worth (she had like twelve really old dollars).  To tell you off the top of my head, I could only guess.  Dolls have come down in the last decade.

The doll, if it is of a limited quantity, could be worth $2,500 or more but that is sheer speculation on my part.  I am also curious to know what the eyes of the doll were made out of.  Did the eyes rotate or were they painted on and to what degree of detail went into the doll.  Was the gerber doll one of many or was it in limited quantity.

I would suggest you look in your yellow pages under doll appraisers and take it from there.  Perhaps a simple call to a doll hospital (YES a doll hospital) they could provide you with a ball park figure.  Good luck.  I wish you the best.
