I have been a musician all my life, [im 14] i taught myself saxophone in year 6 [now year 10] and doing my grade 6. *However* im stuck on whether or not i should - or shouldn't - have drum lessons. I have a standard drum kit which i got a few months back, [the people who sent it to me are rubbish and i dont have a working hi hat and all the drums are bent :\]

I have begun teaching myself and have got to the end of FastTrack Book 2, i think im quite good but i really would love to have a drumming career in a band in the future, im really stuck as whether i should have drum lessons, or just go on with life and carry on with the self teaching and see what life holds for my drum band career. Help !?

  1. I too have been into music my whole life. Both my parents are into music, as well as my older brother. I sing, play the guitar, and the piano.

I would reccommed getting a teacher. They can really show you some new things that you could never have taught youself, all because they have experience.

    Hope I Helped ♥

  2. I would say at least try some official lessons. Give it a good 6-9 months and then if you don't feel like you are getting much out of them, you can always quit.
