Help! First-time trip to Greece..

Question

I am planning for a trip to Greece and very interested to stay in Elounda. However, I would be traveling alone from Singapore and I am not really sure of a best place to stay and if there are other places other than Elounda that I could explore. Truly appreciate if anyone would be kind enough to share his/her opinions. All your feedbacks would be genuinely valued. Peace.

I'm assuming you mean Elounda in Crete?!?

From recollection it is quite a small resort with not a great deal to see. The most interesting thing in my opinion is the tiny island just off Elounda called Spinalonga that used to be a leper colony until some time in the 1950's.

Crete is a very rugged but beautiful island and the Cretans exceptionally friendly.

Well work travelling inland, away from the cost.

I wouldn't recommend you a vacation in Greece this summer. It's not just terrorist organization PEEK (Е.П.Е.К.), you can also check what happened several times to Macedonian tourists in Greece, An Australian tourist who was beaten by bouncers while on holiday on the Greek island of Makings - he died later in the hospital, fires which greek firemen can't control and a really, really a lot of aggression and violations on the tourists by greeks, the "problem" about the name Macedonia and the denying the existence of the minorities in greece, the problem about Cyprus.

All this problem are making Greece indeed a dangerous place to visit.

Elouda in the Island of Crete is amazing,I have been and that's were the rich and famous go for rest.

People that don't know the islands of Greece are not qualified to give their opinions.

I have been and i would go again in an instant.

Very close to Agios Nikolaos another beautiful place to visit.

Rent a car and explore the island,taste the delicious flavors of the island,they are unique.Taste the honey and get some to bring home.you will not find this honey any place else in the world.

I can go on and on and i feel that our earth has an abundance of wonderful places but the Greek islands are a gift from God to all mankind, and the people of Greece are king enough to  let all of us in and give us the opportunity to enjoy this fantastic creation.

Please go and have fun it's very safe,the weather is nice and hot and the vistas dreamy.

And don't forget about the olive oil and different spices,bring some home with you.

It is wonderful to visit Elounda.

It's quite affordable, absolutely safe, friendly local people.

Crete is beautiful and the Cretans are very hospitable to strangers. I don't know its geography too well, but you must visit the ancient palaces of Knossos. As for previous answers about terrorism or violence, this is all lies coming from FYROMian silly propaganda against Greece. Elounda or generally the places near the sea are luxurious resorts that have nothing to do with this kind of things.
