  1. first of all you need to get the flea medicine from your vet that you put on the dog once a month.  But if you bath your dog in dawn dish soap it will get rid of the fleas also.  My vet doesn't recommend shaving a long haired dog although she shaves my inside cats every summer.  I use the vets flea medicine once a month, and bath them once a month with dog shampoo mixed with dawn dish soap.  Never have a problem.

  2. You have the right idea. This is what I did for my yorkie

    - Flea dip

    -Cut his hair

-Buy  anti-tick/ anti-flea collar (buy at pet supermarket or etc)

-Bomb the house (not literally but from the fleas)

-Isolate the dog for a day or so

-Clean up the house and dogs area

-Get rid off old beddings and towels

-Remove all ticks (look for them in the corner of the ceilings and on the side of doors and such. they bury themselves there. They arent dead. Kill them!

This is from my own experience. I had a tick problem but I haven't had any tick or flea problem since. Also, make sure you don;t take your dog to a plce where you r dog got the fleas from.

  3. Its not bad to shave your dog, but she will look prettier with fur. If i were you i wouldnt shave your dog.

Vacuming your house wont make the fleas goaway, and putting er in another room wont. Take her to the vets and ask for some medicine which will help get rid of the fleas.

  4. put front line plus on your dog. shaving will make the shih tzu pretty but, you are going to have to boom your house with flea floggers. the front line plus works very well. thanks
