Help HUGE CHUNKY spider in my porch, have a phobia?

what do i do? I tried pushing the nozzle of the henry hoover close to the spider and turned the power on, much to my horror the spider didnt budge, its too heavy!!!!

Im shaking in my boots :\ I hateeeee spiders, its in my front porch and im not leaving the house until its gone!!

It looks like a tarantula, about 5 x 5 inches and its traumatizing!

Please no animal activists, i absolutely love all animals except spiders, and i cannot scoop this up in a glass and throw out, its too scary, im sorry :\

Call a friend or neighbour to remove the spider humanely for you .

Simple simple simple......large jug of water and throw it at the spider so as to create a small spider river....woooosssshhhhhhh bye bye spider. If the water does not work the first time just boil the kettle and the rest is History!!!!

dump water on it. its gonna run away, but im not sure if itll run in the right direction. if it does that, keep dumping that water on it. just use the water to drive it off the porch.

take the back door out or attempt a long jump and lunge yourself from your front door to your driveway over the spider

call a neighbor or a friend and ask them to kill it for you. or, leave out of the other door. front door, if it's on the back, back if it's on the front

A very humane way to get rid of the spider is to pour water directly onto it in a deluge.  Get a large ewer or pitcher, or maybe a bowl, and pour the water on the spider in torrents like a waterfall. Try to impair the spider's breathing without actually drowning it, and the spider should move off to avoid uncomfortability.

Spray it with your fire extinguisher.   Or make a "water" balloon, but fill it with insecticide, then toss it. and hope your aim is good.

you could ask someone to get rid of it... u cud go out da bak door an go buy a spray that REPELS spiders. I am exactly the same, i av severe arachnophobia but i am a total all animal lover (i am a vegan, buy nothing tested on animals, no leather, etc. ) an im just lucky i have my mum...

Smash it.  Get your man to smash it.  Use a news paper.  Use anything heavy.  s***w calling the zoo, that thing could hurt someone.

Babyfing is the only person who suggested the axact same thing that I would do in most spiggy situations and that's boil the kettle.  However, if the spig is above your head I'd advice against it.  I usually get either my hubby or if he's not at home a neighbour to eradicate mine.  My dyson is another method, but then someone has to empty it for me outside.  Failing all these methods, then I'm afraid I go to pieces.  I lived on my own for several years in the nineties and the worst aspect of it was the spidery times.  Absolutely terrifying.  Very good luck to you my friend.

Oh my, I know how you feel. I am EXACTLY the same way.  Keep your eye on it, whatever you do!  If it disappears, you will wonder where it went!  Can you call a neighbor to come kill it?

How about spraying it with something? Chemical cleaner?  Throwing bleach on it?  Could you get a huge heavy book or box or something and drop it on it from directly overhead?  Smash it with a long-handled shovel?  OR, take a big bowl and see if you can cover the spider with the bowl.  Then put something HEAVY on it, and call for backup!

i would have thought the henry would have sucked it up try emptying the hoover bag,,

if that still doesnt work you'l need to phone someone or squish it,

oh if it is as big as you said and if it is a tarantula then phone your local animal control.
