  1. Close your eyes.

  2. Don't have injections unless it's absolutely necessary  If you're having just a small filling,you don't need a jab.

  3. It sounds to me that you have (Trypanophobia)  that's indicates that you are scared of needles.

The only way to cure this phobia is to go and see a therapist.  Remember, you can kill any phobias by facing them.

    Hope that helps.

  4. It's mind over matter my dear. You have to realize that these people are not doing this to hurt you. Whenever you go to the dentist just relax and keep in mind that whatever they're doing is for your own good, it isn't torture and it will not to kill you ;) Just think, you could be in worse pain than this.

    Good luck.

  5. Try to faint before your injections, then you won't remember them.  It's ok to faint afterwards.  I hate the dentist needles too with a passion.  They're longer than rotorooter.

  6. I resorted to having valium injections. I know it's still an needle but one in the arm is a thousand times better than one in the gum!

You could ask if your dentist does sedation - not many do these days. I pay dearly for the privilege of sedation.

One dentist gave me some good advice many years ago. Take a walkman (told you it was a long time ago - iPod then!) in with you and play it really loud throughout the whole procedure. I have tried it and it does help take your mind of things. It's not as good as valium though.

  7. Do you close your eyes before you even see the needle?

Because i have had over 10 injections (my 4 teeth needed to be pulled) and if you don't see the needle and keep thinking it will be  over soon it's alright

Oh and there are special hospitals for nervous people where you don't get injections but it's still numbed by the other way...
