Question:

Help! How do I get a black and white checkered floor clean?

It's not entirely flat, it looks like it was stickered on top of something else. Anyway, the dirt is pretty dug-in and brown. I've mopped several times, and even tried to scrub with the magic eraser, etc. Any suggestions?

  1. What is the floor made of????? email me and I will try to help you. pattyg2@sbcglobal.net

  2. need to use good old hands n' knees with a scrubbing brush technique. sprinkle table salt and add some white vinegar or lemon juice when scrubbing to get grease or built up dirt off.

some bleach in the mop water will help a bit too.

  3. Maybe you've got peel and stick tiles, notorious for not lasting well. I think you might have to use the good old fashioned stiff scrub brush, maybe even get down on hands and knees, to get ground-in dirt out. Most any good floor cleaner should work if you do that. Once it's clean, get yourself some really good acrylic floor sealer and put a few coats of that on, the floor should be much easier to clean as long as you keep the sealer coat in good shape.
