Help! How do I import an image on top of another image in photoshop?

Hi. My son is coming back after 6 months travelling. I'm making a stupid welcome home sign and want to import an image of him and his girlfriend onto an album cover (and cover the artists faces with theirs). I have all the images, cropped the face, but don't know how to place their faces onto the album cover...any help muchos appreciated. Thanks x

Have your original photo open, then open the second photo, copy and paste as new layer onto the first one and before you merge the two layers, resize as appropriate and put in exactly position.
