Question:

Help! How do I remove the smell of blood from laundry?

I thawed a roast on my counter and the blood from it ran down my cabinets onto my kitchen rug. I tossed the rug in the laundry room and forgot to wash it. The next morning the smell was nasty! I put the rug along with some other darks into the wash and washed them. When I went to put them in the dryer, not only did the rug still stink but all my clothes as well! What do I do?

  1. Well first of all if the rug was not expensive throw it away !  To get rid of the smell in your clothes try bounce febreze dryer sheets. Just put one sheet in your dryer when you dry the clothes and it leaves a fresh scent I use them all the time they work great

    Hope this helps

  2. Pour an entire bottle of hydrogen perioxide and a box of baking soda into the washing machine filled with water, let the machine do its agitation mode and then stop machine and let soak over night, then finish the load. Run load again with normal detergent.  That should do it.

  3. Put a cup of white vinegar or lemon juice in the wash. They both will take out smells and not leave a smell when dry.

  4. Lots and lots of bleach. That's how I always do it when I s***w up a stunt or land a jump off a building wrong or something.Apply bleach to everything that's affected. And try Lysol too.

  5. try vinegar, dawn dish detergent (just a little b/c it suds up ) and lemon juice if that doesnt work (use a bottle of white vinegar for 1 load of laundry . The dawn will dissolve any of the oils from the meat and the vinegar will get rid of the smell you can also addd some lemon juice for added scent.
