For the past few weeks my sleeping pattern is so messed up. I am up at, 2,3,4 in the morning.

Yesterday, I woke up at 10:00 am and it is now 6:00 am and I am wide awake! I don't plan on sleeping until 7 or 8 pm tonight which means i'll be up for over 30 hours. Is this normal and is it ok for my baby to go so long without sleep? Help!

  1. it won't affect the baby so much as it will you,try staying up longer and getting up early, hopefully this will put you back in a normal sleep pattern again, maybe try going for a short walk in the afternoon to burn a little energy

  2. get ready this is the start of being a mom, on very little sleep. Tonight was a bad night for me I didn't sleep much either. I am 35 weeks and 5 days. there are times when I can sleep and can't one thing I do is take a bath that relaxes me, I read a book, these all help me fall asleep. If its a big prob talk to the doc. The baby sleeps when you are awake or not.

  3. Well first off, your baby sleeps whether you are sleeping or not, it wakes up and sleeps on its own pattern.

Second, that is pregnancy, I am only 13 weeks along and its been on and off bad sleeping as well and I'm sure as we get bigger, itll only be harder.

  4. i can relate to your problem perfectly. at about 8 weeks with all 3 of my boys i had trouble getting to sleep and staying asleep. as far as affecting the baby, there's no problem there. the baby will do as it needs to regardless of whatever your doing. i'd be a little concerned about u. right now you need all the rest you can get- try taking a short walk during the day (morning or evening) nothing strenuous just enough to keep you a little active, having a warm bath with lavender fragranced bubble bath or body wash, chamomile tea, relaxing in the evening and trying to keep a little active during the day so you distinguish day from night so to speak.

if you continue to have problems, talk to your doctor at your next appointment and see if there's other problems that may need addressing like sleep apnoea or sinus problems, etc.

  5. it wont affect the baby because he or she get's it's rest but as for you i would try to lay back down or something becasue you need your rest

  6. Sorry to hear your already not sleeping. To make you feel better your baby is sleeping just fine the baby sleeps a lot whether you do or not. For your own health this is not good whether or not your pregnant. if it continues to be a problem ask your doctor about it you need your energy too.
