Help! I'm a 37 year old homemaker with an insignificant job history!?

Question

However, I have been self employed in door to door sales. I was pretty sucessful at it. I became pregnant and stopped. That was over 2 years ago.

I'M NOW LOOKING FOR A WAY TO USE MY COMPUTER TO MAKE MONEY AT HOME. I know about the websites, like project payday and survey sites- I just want to use MY OWN WEBSITE to generate a little income- like, couldn't I write intresting stuff to draw traffic then sale something or advertise for someone?

I never finished college, but I am skilled at writing factual information and humor, pursuasion, and giving good and well-accepted personal advise, especially to teens. I could probably come up with a few other personal skills if I thought about it.

HOW MIGHT I INCORPORATE THOSE SKILLS INTO MY OWN WEBSITE AND EARN AROUND $300. A MONTH?

Are there any specific technical points that I should know to go along with your answer?

By the way, I'm broke, so please don't try to sell me any kits or books on the topic.

if all you want is a website most home based business let you do that! i know with what i do (Passion Parties & Gold Canyon) that by paying xtra for my site to have a shopping cart all i need to do is get people to buy online! Another option is called YTB its used to book travel. You sign up to join them and then you just tell people to go to your site to book their travel buy tickets and what not. It's like expedia but anyone who wants to can have their own website! You can even send flowers thru YTB. THe internet does the work for you! all you need to do is get the people there! So, how many people do you know that travel? Do they like you more than expedia? I'm guessing since they don't know expedia on a personal level, they will pick you!!!! :D and you make a profit everytime someone books travel! It shouldn't take too much effort to generate $300 monthly. Start with a website and a blog, of similar genre that you can cross-link them, and start promoting them. Both allow you to control your content and sell advertising space on them. Once those two are going, add a new promotional tool to your marketing repertoire each month.

The R&D alone could potentially be very expensive and, as you said, you're broke.  There are a ton of home-based franchises out there.  Why don't you try and find one that fits your lifestyle and interests.  It'd be a lot less expensive than starting from scratch and the support alone (assuming it's a good company) could be worth the start-up fees.

After reading your question, it seems to me like you would be better off advertising to "mothers" probably "single moms".

Seeing how you know how to deal with teens, write articles about certain topics that teens face in life for the "moms" to read and understand their teens problem, and how to help them deal with it.

You can sell these articles/reports for a little money or alot of money depending on how long the report is.

Make the reports about different topics...

- bullys

- sexual problems

- school

- peer pressure

- etc. etc.

I hope this makes you think of how valuable the information that you have in your head is..

Also, about your website...

Try writing like you're talking directly to someone, avoid the word " I "... Your "sales copy" can be any length as long as it "sells!"

Have someone proof-read your sales copy after you get done and ask them "honestly"... if they would buy one of the reports..

Write the reports before or after you write your sales copy for your website. You will want to have them ready to sell when you post your sales copy onto your website and start marketing it.
